How It All Began
Kay (I would share more about her at the end of this post) saw a photo I posted on my Instagram.
Kay said she had to have those earrings.
The earrings though were part of a set, you can not see it in the photo above, but the earrings match the pendant on the pearl necklace. Watch the photo below.
I checked my supplies to see if I had any left...I did...I had five of the puffy swirl heart charms left. Once I found them I replied to her comment on Instagram. You can follow our chat on Instagram @HannahsGems.
I created a special listing for the earrings for her to purchase and complete the transaction.
I later received an email from Kay saying that she would like to purchase a bracelet as well, but she wanted it in a different color. I said sure choose the bracelet you like and add it to your order.
Kay placed her order and left me a message with the order. Have you ever used or noticed a box at checkout titled something like 'note to seller' ? That box can be used to add custom requests related your order. Well, Kay wanted her bracelet in shades of green with charms to match her earrings (I thought that was a great idea). Also, I had intended to make more memory wire bracelets so I was glad for her suggestion.
The Building Of A Custom Piece Begins
I knew which beads I wanted to use but was not sure of the bead pattern for the beads. Actually, Kay was not very excited about the first design (no I won't show it). I got a bit carried away because of her use of the word bling in her message, the bracelet design which I was to work off of (the one added to her order) was more sparkly than the muted greens.
I felt that the bracelet would need more wraps than the orignal, I thought it would look better. I had two sizes of the Fire Polished Czech Glass in Green to use in the bracelet, the original had three sizes. I had to add gemstomes and I had green agate and moss agate (I used both). I was glad that she "love love" loved the beads. She did not want all the embellishments I added to the first draft. I strung and unstrung the bracelet as much as 10-20 times. I do not like using obvious patterns, but a simple design turns out to be the most attractive, thankfully each gemstone is unique in its coloring and patteren formation to add interest and uniqness to jewelry. Continue for some information on Moss agate.
About Moss Agate
Moss agate is said to be wonderful for gardners and nature lovers. It some how enhances that green thumb of theirs and helps them to connect more with the outdoors. For them and others who wear moss agate it helps relieve stress. I think it would be good for pregnant women and mothers to help them to be more intune with their motherly instincts.

How to wear coral pink necklace and earrings
I want to bring you jewelry accessories that you can wear with any style or color combinations with a smile.
In both pictures, Sera, is wearing the same coral pink dolomite ( Mountain "Jade" ) necklace. She first wore it with black and white stripes and what appears to be a gold toned cardigan -- I love cardigans -- with matching earrings -- also from Hannah's Gemstone Jewelry (HannahsGems). Next she wore it with what looks like a striped coral and white cardigan with a blue top -- I love these color combos. I like to mix and match myself; Sera sure does it well.
Remember to join me on Instagram, I'm there everyday. I love to hear from clients and I would love to share your photos, tag me @hannahsgemstonejewelry on social media or send me an email.

What Makes You Happy?
What do you do to recharge and invigorate your body and soul?
I like jewelry making. Why? It's possibly because it's the only art and craft I'm good at and can excel in.
However, my personal vow to do something creative with my hands, had to benefit others and make them happy. I'd say jewelry does that perfectly.
All the best
Happy Wedding Anniversary
I am so happy for Sera and her husband celebrating their 2nd wedding anniversary.
I think Sera is a sweet and classy lady. I am thankful that her mom recommended me to make her Bridesmaid Gifts.
They chose Hannah's Gemstone Jewelry (HannahsGems) again for a wedding Anklet- The Light Purple Amethyst Anklet .
Here is what Sera had to say:
"Hannah's Gems fulfilled exactly what I was looking for when I asked her to make my bridesmaid's gifts. She made gorgeous memory wire bracelets that my ladies found both beautiful and sturdy. I couldn't be happier with my experience and loved that she sent each of the bracelets in their own little box. I will definitely keep Hannah's Gems in mind when I need more gifts! Thank you!"
"Each bride wants that little something that sets them apart from every other bride. I was no different when I was planning my wedding. My husband and I didn't have the traditional wedding dance and garter toss, but I still wanted something feminine and special to replace the garter. Hannah's Gems provided me with the PERFECT option! I had a BEAUTIFUL purple pearl wedding anklet. It is special and something that I get to enjoy forever and can give to MY daughter if she chooses to wear on her wedding day. Thank you, Hannah's Gems for helping make my wedding day extra special and beautiful."

My Personal Jewelry Business Challenge 2014
I have taken on the challenge of using the jewelry supplies that I have in stock without making new purchases. There are some really good sales going on and I get alerts everyday in my inbox -- I don't want to unsubscribe to my favorite sites so I delete most of them without opening them.
Here Is an Update
These alphabet beads were ordered years ago with the intention of making simple bracelets with inspirational messages and slogans for young women/girls.
I did make a few 2 or 3 years ago that sold out at a bazaar, where merchants and traders gather in one place to sell and showcase their merchandise.
I ordered a PayPal Here to take payments on the go just in time for a recent road trip. It was nice taking time out to meet friends and make acquaintances -- see new faces and old faces and enjoy the outdoors: God is Good in the splendor and variety He has created in this vast Earth WE call HOME.
Challenges Increase Productivity
What's the challenge?
I challenge myself to create new pieces with the inventory I have in stock and to not buy any more components and findings until I have exhausted my supplies or reached 100 items in my online store.
I enjoy jewelry making. It's the only arts and craft I am truly good at, meaning I can complete a project successfully.
I started making jewelry in 2009. I bought a few supplies and my first jewelry making tools of the trade from Jewelry Beads and Findings. Below are 2 pairs of my very first items of jewelry. I know, the picture quality isn't great.
When my husband came to know what I was doing, he decided to join in the fun. Together we did research online for the best places to get great quality supplies for a good price. After comparing several sites we chose Fire Mountain Gems and Beads (FMG). FMG has tier pricing, the more you buy the more you save--you can guess what happened next. My husband went all out and put his trust in my newly found talent...might as well get serious and make a business of this...that was his way of looking at it.
Jewelry makers have a habit of always adding to their stock even when they are a running out of storage room. There is good reason to buy more than what one has in stock such as in the case of custom orders, sometimes a customer would request something and I don't have all the materials in stock.
