2019 and Beyond
Hannah's Gemstone Jewelry, has less than two years left as a registered business (with the option to renew), and is planning to make the best of it. Thanks to the team at the Zibbet.com marketplace for their support. We are all eagerly awaiting the reveal of Zibbet.com's secret project, which they have been leaving us in suspense about. I was hoping to wake up to the surprise on December 25, 2018, since it's a time of spreading joy and giving. ; )
Customer Feedback for Products Lines
I wear jewelry on special occasions, but anklets would be nice to wear around the house, especially as a mom with small children, who pull at everything.
I love your jewelry. You're so very talented. I wear my stuff from you regularly. I was just telling my new sister in law about my wedding anklet.
It was suggested a long time ago to add anklets as a product line. The lovely customer feedbacks that were given late this year has reawakened that idea.
Bulk It Up
Continuing with more business suggestions and feedback from gift givers, it was suggested to make bulk items and promote them as gifts for party favors. The idea occurred to reintroduce an item that has not been added for a long time - pins. In the past, custom requests for pins have been made and sold. One order that came as a surprise was for nearly a dozen pins; which I believe were for employees in the customer service industry.
More Product Ideas
This is something which I have been putting off for a long time and only one has been made and sold online so far--lanyards.
Gorgeous! My coworker is purple obsessed and will love this. Very quick shipping as well. I received my item with no issues. Thank you!
What has Been The Hold Up With Lanyards?
Price: Beaded lanyards take up a lot of beads.
Comfortability: The first design was restrung several times to ensure that it was comfortable around the neck. Small beads that lay behind the neck can pinch real bad-ouch! That issue was fixed wit that design, but I don't want to do it again. I have an idea for the neck drape, this time, which I hope you will like, it will make adding custom colors easier too.
What Sparked The Reintroduction of Lanyards?
Now being the parent that has to wait in the school pick up line; I was rushing out one afternoon...and locked us out of the house. That day the idea that lanyards would be very useful to busy moms was sparked.
,Logos: It has been predicted by online design services, that logo trends for 2019 will include; simple text or a simple image on plain background, with a retro feel (addition of bold fonts and pops color), also geometric shapes.
A new logo for Hannah's Gemstone Jewelry, that will incorporate some colors from the current banner- to represent the main brand colors, has been drafted.
Chain: A search on Pinterest for 2019 jewelry trends, had a lot of chain pop up. I also saw the more traditional cuts and polish of beads used in Hannah's Gemstone Jewelry, with chain. This discovery only reaffirmed the decision I had all along to continue with the necklace that was already in progress. Sadly, I no longer will be able to rely on my best chain supplier. Plus, there are so many options for chain - yikes! Options chosen will have to be lead and nickle free for sure, which you won't believe really narrows the choices down. The choices would be from sterling silver and or stainless steel (the medical grade type).
Color of The Year
Have you been updated on the Pantone color of the year, Living Coral?
My personal color would be turquoise. I'll be wearing a turquoise bracelet as a reminder to stay focused and on track with To Do Lists and goals. Historically, turquoise was worn for successful completion of tasks and going on a journey. 2019 is a journey towards being the best we can be.
Why Did I leave Blogger?
I was caught into the hype of having a pretty site.
I wanted a place to blog and sell all in one place---an actual website/webstore.
Posting on Blogger was kind-of confusing and a bit stressful at times with blog hops and different cross promoting processes.
I miss the Zibbeters and hope I can reconnect with some of them. I had fun sharing there special handmades and artwork. Come checkout the blog some time.
I enjoyed being on Blogger while I was there. I was interacting with the Zibbet community of sellers there, and reading/following some beautiful blogs.
What's The Deal?
I have found a beautiful template to match Hannah's Gemstone Jewelry (HannahsGems) branding colors. Blogger has also switched to the secure Https, which may be best to promote HannahsGems products to help give shoppers who land on the site peace of mind.
Also, Google has made more changes, yet again, to Googles search rankings. Sites, especially those that sell products and collect personal info (for shipping purposes only) , were prompted to switch to secure https. When using Google's Chrome, different warnings may pop up when a site is not using https; which of course can scare visitors away form your site. By the way (BTW) Blogger (blogspot) is a Google product, so there you have it.
In October I contacted Weebly about their plans to switch to https, they did not have a definite/satisfactory answer. But as you can see now, Weebly has made the switch to secure https. So relax and take your time to browse this site.

The year 2015 is coming to a close. I wanted to stop by and say THANK YOU!
Thank you for your, comments, likes, shares, and purchases. Also, I enjoyed being a customer to some of you. :)
This year has been a learning curve for Hannah’s Gemstone Jewelry, testing new marketing ideas and focusing on branding. I’ll admit that I spent too much time listening to marketing experts and trying to carry out their best tips and tricks. I spent way too much time on working on website templates and design and deciding on the best shopping cart platform.
Looking back, YOU, Customers and Followers, showed me that keeping it simple is the best way to go. As the saying goes, “if it aint broke, don’t’ fix it.”
Hannah’s Gemstone Jewelry, will continue to make jewelry gifts with care and quality while keeping it simple.
Here is hoping for more time with family and friends and easier and wiser decisions in 2016.
All the best,
How It All Began
Kay (I would share more about her at the end of this post) saw a photo I posted on my Instagram.
Kay said she had to have those earrings.
The earrings though were part of a set, you can not see it in the photo above, but the earrings match the pendant on the pearl necklace. Watch the photo below.
I checked my supplies to see if I had any left...I did...I had five of the puffy swirl heart charms left. Once I found them I replied to her comment on Instagram. You can follow our chat on Instagram @HannahsGems.
I created a special listing for the earrings for her to purchase and complete the transaction.
I later received an email from Kay saying that she would like to purchase a bracelet as well, but she wanted it in a different color. I said sure choose the bracelet you like and add it to your order.
Kay placed her order and left me a message with the order. Have you ever used or noticed a box at checkout titled something like 'note to seller' ? That box can be used to add custom requests related your order. Well, Kay wanted her bracelet in shades of green with charms to match her earrings (I thought that was a great idea). Also, I had intended to make more memory wire bracelets so I was glad for her suggestion.
The Building Of A Custom Piece Begins
I knew which beads I wanted to use but was not sure of the bead pattern for the beads. Actually, Kay was not very excited about the first design (no I won't show it). I got a bit carried away because of her use of the word bling in her message, the bracelet design which I was to work off of (the one added to her order) was more sparkly than the muted greens.
I felt that the bracelet would need more wraps than the orignal, I thought it would look better. I had two sizes of the Fire Polished Czech Glass in Green to use in the bracelet, the original had three sizes. I had to add gemstomes and I had green agate and moss agate (I used both). I was glad that she "love love" loved the beads. She did not want all the embellishments I added to the first draft. I strung and unstrung the bracelet as much as 10-20 times. I do not like using obvious patterns, but a simple design turns out to be the most attractive, thankfully each gemstone is unique in its coloring and patteren formation to add interest and uniqness to jewelry. Continue for some information on Moss agate.
About Moss Agate
Moss agate is said to be wonderful for gardners and nature lovers. It some how enhances that green thumb of theirs and helps them to connect more with the outdoors. For them and others who wear moss agate it helps relieve stress. I think it would be good for pregnant women and mothers to help them to be more intune with their motherly instincts.
Kay is the owner at A Crafty Arab, www.acraftyarab.com. I am a fan of her work. She is an artist and a volunteer art teacher who likes to work with paper creating greeting cards (and more) in arabic and farsi. She has cards for all occasions. Also, Ramadhan and Eid decor. You can find her on Instagram @acraftyarab .
Wow! Is this the longest blog post ever?

True Beauty Is Not All About Looks
Love can be shown in many forms and said in different ways: compassion; tolerance; respect; or kindness.
True love does not know race, creed nor color.
Love is comprehensive and multi dimensional; it can be shown to a spouse, a kin, a fellow earth dweller (cause the earth is so big that none of us can claim it). It is not confined to religion or nationality.
